Virtual Reality and augmented reality places the trainee in “virtual” danger, driving a forklift through a busy warehouse, walking a high steel 8” beam 22 stories above midtown Manhattan, Identifying hazards on a construction site before you are in actual danger. We have found better, pass rates, higher test scores, and retention in classes that have utilized virtual and augmented reality in concert with the classroom based OSHA and buildings regulation instruction. Virtual and augmented reality fosters neural pathways to be created making muscle memory. We have proven that the brain’s hippocampus, which creates long term memory, engages when immersed in VR and AR. Virtual reality and augmented reality engages especially the new millennial generation, whom are very interactive and technologically savvy, into a heightened sense of learning. The traditional construction worker, likes to work with their hands and outside, often they did not excel at traditional classroom setting, but at hands on training. Hence we have recreated the training for construction module with immersive virtual reality so that you may learn by doing.
